Smart Wrestler for coaches
As a coach you set up your school or club, keep a roster of your wrestlers, enter them in tournaments, message them, and see how your team is doing. Wrestlers join your roster once they list your team on their profile. You do not need to create a tournament to bring a team to one. This page shows each step.
Step 1
Start here
- Create your account and choose Coach, then verify your email.
- Open My Account and choose your school or club. Everything else builds on this.
- Ask your wrestlers (or their parents) to add your team to their athlete profile.
- Open My Wrestlers and add them to your roster.
Step 2
Build your roster
My Wrestlers is your roster. Choose Add Wrestler to see athletes who have already added your team, then pick the ones you coach. Use the search box to find someone by name, weight, or division. If this account also has Parent or Host access, open your Coach workspace to manage the same roster. If the roster could not load, choose Retry roster before adding athletes; an error does not mean your roster is empty.
- Free accounts can keep up to 5 wrestlers on their roster. A Coach plan removes the limit.
- Remove a wrestler any time. They keep their own account and history.
- If an athlete moves to another team, they stop showing on your roster.
Step 3
Register your team
Choose Register Wrestlers from your dashboard, or search for an event with Search All Tournaments. Pick your team, then register everyone at once or choose a few.
| Event type | How your wrestlers get in |
|---|---|
| Free event, no waivers | You register the team from your dashboard. |
| Event with waivers | Each athlete registers (18 and older), or a parent registers them. Share the event link with your families. |
| Paid event | The athlete or a parent registers and pays at checkout. |
| Team event | You enter the team and choose the boys or girls team bracket where the event offers both. |
Not sure why a button is missing? See waivers for athletes under 18.
Step 4
Roster templates
Entering the same lineup every weekend? Save it once as a template and apply it to the next event. Roster templates come with a Coach plan.
Step 5
Message your wrestlers
Once one of your wrestlers is entered in an event, you can send them a message about it, for example a reminder about weigh-in time or where to meet. Choose the event, pick the wrestler, and type your note. It arrives as a notification for that wrestler.
From My Wrestlers you can also switch match alerts on or off for each wrestler, so you only hear about the athletes you want to follow.
Step 6
Coach analytics
Coach Analytics shows how your team is doing: results, recent form, roster coverage by weight, and wrestler tendencies. It is included with a Coach plan, and you can also unlock it for a single event with a Coach event pass.
Plans live under Subscriptions in your Coach workspace. Plans and event passes explained.
Use Analytics scope to choose an event pass. An event pass shows only that event’s entered wrestlers and results, and stops covering the event when it ends or is canceled. A yearly Coach plan offers All tournaments with a date range. Parent plans cover your family workspace separately.
Step 7
If you are also a parent
You can use one account for your team and your family. Choose Add Parent access on your coach dashboard, then add your kids without needing a second email.
Coach plans cover your team and Parent plans cover your children. You can hold one of each on the same account. Read more about Parent access.
If your child submitted their own signup, approve it using your existing login and add Parent access when asked. How to approve a child’s signup.
Check team readiness before an event
Use one roster check before the registration deadline and another before travel. Ask families to confirm the athlete profile and school or club, then check which wrestlers are actually entered in the intended event. A wrestler on your team roster is not automatically entered in every tournament.
| Check | Next step |
|---|---|
| Athlete missing from the coached roster | Ask the athlete or parent to select your team on the athlete profile, then try Add Wrestler. |
| Roster did not load | Choose Retry roster; do not treat a failed load as an empty team. |
| Event requires family waivers | Ask the adult athlete or linked parent to complete individual registration. |
| You are attending as both coach and parent | Use the appropriate workspace on the same login and review each plan separately. |
Share the athlete’s pre-event checklist with your team.
