Oregon wrestling weight classes

Oregon wrestling weight classes from OSAA coach resources: separate 14-class boys’ and girls’ lists, current plan-book location and special-district records.
Quick answer
OSAA’s published Oregon coach resources identify fourteen boys’ classes from 106 to 285 pounds and fourteen girls’ classes from 100 to 235. The girls’ sequence includes 105, 110 and 115. The linked plan book reviewed here is the 2025–26 edition, while separate resources include later-season updates. Keep those source dates distinct and check the latest instructions before a new entry. The athlete’s approved dated record and Special District requirements remain additional conditions beyond the numerical chart.
Which OSAA weight classes are listed?
Use the boys’ and girls’ coach pages for the class adoptions and the current plan-book location for its stated season. An old similarly named PDF can contain a much earlier list.
| Competition | Nominal classes |
|---|---|
| Boys high school | 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 144, 150, 157, 165, 175, 190, 215, 285 |
| Girls high school | 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 155, 170, 190, 235 |
Why does the OSAA document path matter?
The older /docs/wre/wreplan.pdf location still returns a 2013–14 document. That file includes earlier category numbers and must not be mistaken for the current linked plan book. The /docs/planbooks/wreplan.pdf source reviewed here is a different publication with its own season label.
When sharing a PDF, check the title and year inside it rather than trusting a familiar filename or successful download. A stale document can look authoritative and still give a coach the wrong middle weights. Keep the actual source link with the team packet.
How do Special District records add to the chart?
The plan book requires the school’s roster and eligible weight information for the competition date before the specified bracketing process. The actual measured weight and class of participation also belong in the school record. A category’s presence in a dropdown does not establish that an individual may enter it.
Review the approved record before committing the postseason selection. If the dated eligibility and intended entry disagree, ask the responsible school staff to resolve the difference. A host volunteer should not calculate a new minimum or improvise an exception from a family’s scale reading.
What differs between boys’ and girls’ entries?
The girls’ fourteen-class row differs from both the boys’ row and a twelve-class girls’ adoption. The same total number of categories therefore proves very little. Read the full sequence, including the middle and upper categories, for the actual competition.
- Identify the school level and boys’ or girls’ program.
- Use the linked OSAA coach resources for the adopted row.
- Check the plan book’s internal season and any later amendment.
- Match the athlete’s school record to the event date.
How can an Oregon host prevent stale presets?
Compare a saved setup with the published class list before accepting entries. A preset created several seasons earlier can remain available even after a governing change. Test both programs independently and document the source used for the event.
In Smart Wrestler, inspect the actual division options before sending registration links. Read the host guide.
If a school submits a number from the old chart, explain the document mismatch and ask for the approved current entry. Do not silently rename the athlete’s category. Correct the existing registration before the bracket is announced so families see one stable assignment.
Frequently asked questions
Does Oregon list fourteen girls’ weights?
The OSAA girls’ coach resource lists fourteen, from 100 through 235.
Are all OSAA files named wreplan.pdf the same edition?
No. The older /docs/wre/ file reviewed here is 2013–14; the linked /docs/planbooks/ source is a different edition.
Is the checked plan book labeled 2026–27?
It is labeled 2025–26. This page keeps that season visible and directs new entries to later official instructions.
Does the state chart establish postseason eligibility by itself?
No. The athlete’s dated school record and applicable Special District requirements must also be satisfied.
