What should a first-time table volunteer do before the first whistle?

Arrive early enough to practice with the table lead. Ask which event and mat you are assigned to, who handles result questions and how a replacement worker will take over. Keep your own login available, but do not pass your password to the next shift. If the screen shows a different bout from the wrestlers on the mat, stop and ask the lead before entering anything.

1. Confirm the event name, mat and both wrestler names with the table lead.
2. Ask the lead to demonstrate the clock and score controls in a test event.
3. Know who to call if a result is challenged or a competitor is missing.
4. At the end of your shift, explain the current bout and let the next helper sign in separately.

What does a volunteer actually see?

Check-in lists who is expected. The weigh-in dashboard lists registered wrestlers by division and weight. The table view shows the next bout the mat queue staged. Awards sees placements when brackets complete. None of those screens need the Stripe dashboard.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Open a browser on the phone or tablet the club handed you. The host invites your account to that tournament. When the event is over, that access should go away.

What if I have never scored a match?

Read the scoring guide, then sit one bout with someone who has done it. Smart Wrestler logs actions instead of a single total, so a mistaken tap can be reversed from the audit trail instead of arguing about the wall clock.

How does this help the director?

The director watches every mat from one dashboard instead of running between clipboards. Volunteers cannot accidentally regenerate a bracket or issue a refund. That is the point of roles. When the event completes, volunteer access expires so last week's table worker is not still sitting in this week's scoring screen.
