What does a high school tournament need that a youth event does not?

• Team standings that coaches trust, built from completed matches as brackets finish.
• Separate boys and girls brackets in one event, or a girls only event.

How does Smart Wrestler score folkstyle team points?

Each result awards team points automatically: decision 3, major decision 4, technical fall 5, and fall, forfeit, injury default, or disqualification 6. In a dual, the team with more points wins the dual and advances in the dual bracket. In an individual tournament, team standings are built from completed matches and shown alongside individual placements on the awards page.

How are varsity and JV handled?

Divisions are set in the format step, and every division gets its own brackets and its own period duration, from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. A host can run varsity in one division and JV in another at the same event, or run a JV only tournament with Madison style merges for thin weight classes so every wrestler gets matches.

What does event day look like for the athletic department?

1. Coaches register wrestlers online before the deadline; the roster page tracks entries with a CSV export.
2. Weigh ins on site with the allowed variance you set, or at home weights with morning check in.
3. Brackets generate per weight class with auto seeding by record and rank; warnings flag duplicate seeds or thin classes.
4. Mats run a dynamic queue with no wrestler back to back; table workers score on tablets with undo and an audit trail.
5. Spectator scoreboards on the gym displays update live; parents follow brackets on their phones.
6. Awards page shows placements by weight class and team standings the moment brackets close.

What does it cost a school?

A paid invitational pays one hosting fee based on reserved capacity: $100 up to 150 wrestlers, $150 to 300, $225 to 500, $325 to 800. A dual tournament pays $50 to $200 by team count. Entry fees go straight to the school's or booster club's Stripe account. Coach accounts are free; Coach Upgrade at $150 per year adds team mat call alerts and analytics for the season.
