Notifications and match alerts
Smart Wrestler tells the right people at the right moment: a confirmation when a registration goes through, weigh-in results, mat assignments, and on tournament day an alert when a wrestler is two bouts away, next, or up now. Alerts reach the wrestler, their parents, and their coach. Live match alerts come with a plan, and you can switch email types on or off in Settings.
The number beside Notifications is your unread count, including coach messages. It appears when you sign in, including on your athlete profile, and updates as messages arrive or you read or delete them. Counts above 99 display as 99+. Opening Notifications keeps your current workspace.

Section 2
Match alerts
Match alerts are built to answer one question on a busy day: when do I need to be at the mat? As each bout starts on a mat, the next two bouts on that mat are alerted.
- In the hole: two bouts away. Time to start warming up.
- On deck: you are next. Head to the mat.
- Up to wrestle: you are on now.
Match alerts come with a plan or event pass: a Parent plan for parents, a Coach plan for coaches. A wrestler's own alerts can also be covered by a linked parent's Parent plan.
Section 3
Who gets what
A parent-managed child has no email inbox. Registration confirmations go to linked parents, and direct coach or tournament messages to these children also reach their approved linked parents. Each parent’s notification settings still apply. Match alerts continue to follow each account’s plan. Verification and password-reset emails are never forwarded from a child to a parent.
| Person | What they receive |
|---|---|
| The wrestler | Their own alerts, results, and messages. |
| Linked parents | Alerts and results for each of their children. |
| The coach | Alerts and results for wrestlers on their roster, unless they switch a wrestler off. |
| Followers | Alerts for wrestlers they follow. |
Section 4
Turn things off
Open Settings and find Notifications. You can switch email for tournament updates, weigh-in reminders, and results on or off.
- Coaches can switch match alerts on or off for each wrestler from My Wrestlers.
- Notifications inside Smart Wrestler stay on, so you never miss something important during an event.
- Push notifications on your phone or browser are coming soon.
Find out why an expected alert is missing
First decide which kind of message you expected. A missing registration confirmation needs a different check from an on-deck alert. Open Notifications inside Smart Wrestler before changing email settings; an in-app message can be present even when its email has not arrived.
| What is missing? | What to check |
|---|---|
| Registration confirmation | Check that the athlete’s entry and any required payment completed for this event. |
| A child’s message | Confirm you are linked to the intended athlete, then check your own notification preferences. |
| A personal mat-call alert | Check the relevant Parent or Coach plan or event pass and whether the host is running live scoring. |
| Email, but the message is in Notifications | Review that email type in Settings and check your mail folders. |
An on-deck alert is a queue update, not a promised start time. Follow the current mat assignment and the event staff’s instructions. If messages still look wrong, send support the event name and the kind of alert you expected.
