Quick answer

Create a draft wrestling bout sheet by pasting each match as round number, wrestler A and wrestler B. The builder sorts by round, keeps the pasted order within a round, assigns sequential bout numbers and distributes them across the selected mats. The result includes each bout’s position in its mat queue and can be copied or printed. It does not enforce rest, resolve winner placeholders or check athlete conflicts, so a table worker must review the draft before calling matches.

What format should the pasted match list use?

Use one match per line with three comma-separated fields: a positive round number, the first wrestler and the second wrestler. A name can instead be a placeholder such as Winner bout 1 when the qualifying bout has not been decided. Do not include commas within an athlete label. The builder accepts up to 512 matches and rejects malformed rows with their line number. It does not silently remove a missing name or interpret a blank opponent as a forfeit, because the intended match must be clear.

How are bout numbers and mats assigned?

Matches are sorted by ascending round number. Within each round, the original pasted order is retained. Starting from your chosen first bout number, the builder adds one per match. Mat assignment rotates from mat one through the selected mat count, then repeats. Queue position counts the bouts already assigned to that mat, so crews can see their own sequence separately from the global bout number. Changing the first number lets this sheet continue an existing tournament’s numbering without restarting at one.

What must be checked before the bout sheet is used?

This is a print-friendly ordering draft rather than a live dependency scheduler. A later-round bout may reach the front of one mat before its qualifiers have completed on another mat. Athlete rest may also require holding a bout, even when its names are known. Verify the event’s required rest, scratches, duplicate athlete assignments and any championship-mat plan. Print the result for working notes or copy the plain-text rows into a planning document. For automatic calls and continuously updated queues, use the product’s live bout board.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start at a bout number other than one?

Yes. Set First bout number to the next unused positive number in your event. The list will receive consecutive numbers from that point, while mat queue positions still start at one.

Does the schedule enforce rest between matches?

No. It sorts rounds and rotates mats but has no athlete identity, dependency or rest engine. Treat the output as a draft and hold any bout whose participants are not ready.

Can I show this draft on a TV?

You can display or print the browser output. The free sheet is a static snapshot. The Smart Wrestler bout board is the matching product feature for a continuously updated spectator display.
