## What should a family record during a club trial visit?

Use the same five prompts at each club so a polished presentation does not outweigh the experience your child actually has. Record what you observed separately from what the program promised, and leave unanswered items open. Compare the completed sheets with your child before making the first-season commitment.

| Planning field | Prompt or example to adapt | Your entry |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Beginning practice | Record who greeted a new athlete, explained the session and answered the caregiver’s questions. | __________ |
| Instruction group | Note the actual ages, experience range, partner arrangement and how coaches adapted a drill for beginners. | __________ |
| Season commitment | Write the required practice days, competition expectations and consequences of missing a session. | __________ |
| Complete written cost | Request dues, required affiliation, equipment, event and travel costs with payment and withdrawal terms. | __________ |
| Athlete response | Ask what felt enjoyable, confusing or uncomfortable and whether the athlete wants another visit. | __________ |

## Club comparison worksheet
